The Louisville Colonels finished out an improbable run through the Doubleday world playoffs by defeating the Albuquerque Dukes in six games to repeat as Champs.The team shocked the world (including themselves!) by coming back from a 3-0 deficit against the Durham Superteam to sweep the next four and advance to the World Series. Then, in a high-scoring World Series that was dubbed "The Bandbox Series" by media pundits, the Colonels showed their experience and brought the trophy home to Louisville for another season.
"Thanks for a great season," said G.M. Ralph Bedwell, squinting through the sting of a celebratory champagne shower. "We totally lucked out -- but we'll take it!"
