NL Season 2 Wrap up part Two

Louisville Colonels- Not the most potent offense in the league, but certainly the most rewarded. Louisville didn't have 1 guy with over 100 rbi's this season. But when they scored it was enough. The pitching staff was phenomenal with Brett Raymond and Brandon Sprague heading up one of the best pitching rotation's in the National League. Back to back World Series champs to their credits and proven to be the best National League team by far for 2 straight seasons.

Atlanta Black Crackers- Dropping from a pretty good season 1 performance, Atlanta managed to finish 25 games out of first place and didn't even smell the playoffs. Vic Silva and Donaldo Jacquez led the teams offense by combining for over 70 home runs and about 200 rbi. Will SP Mark Post actually do what he came there to do in Season 3? Or will he end up playing mediocre like he did this season?

Houston Colt .45s- Houston improved slightly from what appeared to be a terrible season 1 effort. Adding Justin Dodd and Nate Meluskey didn't seem to provide the offensive power that they had hoped. with new ownership taking over will Houston make a run at the playoffs in season 3 or will they continue to be the whipping boys of the NL?

Austin Swing- Jumping almost 20 games from season 1. Austin found themselves showing some serious improvement. The new owner vowed that he was going to rebuild this team so it's only a matter of time before they are at full speed. RF Emil Ross seems to be the centerpiece to the offense hitting near.300 and driving in 70+ runs in his official rookie season.

Oakland Oaks- NL West Division leaders, SP Rafael Pena led this team through one of the toughest divisions in the world. Going 16-4 with around a 2.00 era was enough to put them over Honolulu and Omaha. Oakland is in serious need of a serious bat for the offense but other then that they seem to be set for a strong run in season 3 as well.

Omaha Spikes- One name comes to mind when talking about Omaha.. Albert Wall! Albert Wall was an NL MVP Runner-up smashing 53 home runs. He alone can change the course of any game. Omaha's pitching staff didn't appear too weak either and they made serious improvement from season 1 performance. Just missing the playoffs should only make these guys hunger for it that much more. Look for them to be a huge player in season 3.

Honlulu Scallywags- Chris Marte led the offense with 40+ home runs while the pitching staff was showing minimal domination. 2 15 game winners in the rotation, But in the NL if you don't have tough pitching you will fall behind. Honlulu also missed the playoffs.. Another team that can come back in season 3 and be a serious contender.

San Diego Electrics- San Diego is the only team to have the exact same record 2 seasons in a row. Hard to say if they are improving or not. I would say with the owner they have that they will be improving, look for SP Peter Matheson to have a great season and also look out for some of the young guys in the farm to maybe make their debut in the ML.
