After an interesting week, a few trade possibilities have popped up:
- BREAKING RUMOR (8:15 pm EST): It appears as if the Montreal Shamrocks have entered discussions regarding the acquisition of one Edgardo Mantalban of the Monterrey Gray Ghosts. Mantalban is so far hitting just .223 in his rookie ML season.
- BREAKING RUMOR: News from Anaheim is that the fire sale has begun: the Robins are openly shopping any player on their roster over 26. That list includes All-Star, Gold Glove, and Silver Slugger 1B Barry Broadhurst (.339, 22 HRs, 55 RBIs), season one Most Valuable Player Ralph Hume (.246, 12 HRs, 34 RBIs), and SP Pete Reid, who was a 20-game winner last year and is currently on the DL after a 2-2 start.
- BREAKING RUMOR: Omaha Spikes GM austinfan1 is beginning to shop 24-year-old 1B/DH Ronald Webb, who, since being acquired by the Spikes from Toledo, is hitting .289 with 21 home runs and 50 RBIs on the season. In each of his first two seasons, Webb hit 40+ home runs and drove in 100+ RBIs.
- Before the switch in management, the Jackson Senators were actively trying to acquire help in their bullpen, whether with a setup man or a closer, and one more veteran starting pitcher. It was also reported that Trever Hearn might soon be on his way out, but again, the Senators' plans might've changed.
However, with spokaneman as Jackson's new manager, it is uncertain what moves, if any, he'll be looking to make at this time.
- The Albuquerque Dukes are searching hard for an elite shortstop to compliment their star hitters like Phil Maxwell. The aforementioned Maxwell is on the very short list of untouchable players, but the Dukes are offering Virgil Hogan and possibly additional pieces for "a top-notch SS."
