DOUBLE DAY DAILY

In the hope of returning to prominence, the Kansas City Monarchs announced yesterday the sale of the franchise to new owner and manager newbiefng.

Since making the playoffs with a 97-win season in season two, the Monarchs struggled through a 78-win season last year, in which they fell short of the division title in a tiebreaker against Salt Lake City.

Now, new ownership will be brought in to reassess a team that has among its talented core veterans like Otto Judd and Poseidon Webber, who will look to bring the Monarchs back to the postseason in season four.

Stay tuned for an interview with new owners newbiefng, as they contemplate all things Monarchs and lay bare their hopes for the season ahead.
