DOUBLE DAY AP
Albert Wall's stay in Albuquerque proved to be a short one.
In a massive, four-player deal today, Albert Wall of the Albuquerque Dukes--who formed a punishing triumverate of sluggers with fellow behemoths Spike Logan and Philip Maxwell--has been sent, along with P Robinson Branson, for youngster Quinn Street and Harold Blair of the Oakland Oaks.
It appears that the Albuquerque Dukes have upgraded at starting pitching, acquiring Blair to take Branson's place. Blair represents a shift in attitude for the Dukes, as they have cemented their rotation with a young potential star instead of keeping the superstar bat of Wall.
Street, who hit .270 with 28 HR in the minors last year, will be the Dukes' LF of the future. He will take Albert Wall's place in a still formidable lineup; with this place comes tremendous expectations that the still-improving Street will hope to fulfill.
For the Oaks, they acquire the incredible talents of one Albert Wall, but lose both their top young hitter and their #2 starter as a result.
