Randall Becomes Free Agent
Louisville (HBD) -- The Louisville Colonels announced today that they have decided not to offer a new contract to veteran pitcher Mike Randall, who thus becomes a free agent. "Mike was a big part of this team's success in season one," said G.M. Ralph Bedwell. "He was really an anchor in the bullpen and helped us to the first championship. Letting him go was a difficult decision." Randall appeared in 77 games in season one, logging 117 innings pitched, and a record of 14-4, 3.54. Unfortunately for Randall, his performance fell off significantly over the next two seasons, and then he sustained a torn labrum in his pitching shoulder near the end of this past season. Randall still has 94 days left on the injured list.
