DOUBLE DAY DAILY
Free agency is only now underway, but already, rumors have surfaced around Double Day. Here are just a few of them:
- The Tampa Bay Seminoles are looking to move Fausto Cortes and Mario Manzanillo from their club.
- Likewise, the El Paso Sun Kings are open to moving their veteran major leaguers for prospects.
- Dean Gardner and Steve Hollandsworth are the two names surfacing out of Omaha as available pitchers. Both young aces are apparently on the market for a great young position player, my sources indicate.
- The Bernie Alvarez sweepstakes continue. It is known that the Toledo Maumees have received serious interest in the veteran from at least two teams, though the specifics are not yet known. There is no words on when a deal might be finalized.
