Louisville Colonels | 37-22 .627 - |
Atlanta Black Crackers | 32-27 .542 5.0 |
Houston Colt .45s | 26-33 .441 11.0 |
Austin Swing | 22-37 .373 15.0 |
The NL South led by the World Series Champions, Louisville Colonels are pretty spread out. Louisville has a convincing lead over the 2nd place Atlanta Black Crackers due to the amazing pitching performances of Brett Raymond and Brad Sprague! Raymond is undefeated with a 10-0 record while Sprague is 7-2 with a .95 whip. Will they win the World Series again?
Atlanta, Atlanta did some changes this off season after hiring a new owner. Adding Vic Silva and SP Mark Post should have been a bigger impact then what it is.. Silva is batting better this year but Post is struggling to get the job done on the mound. Only 5 games back can they pull it together and bump Louisville from the Division title?
Houston in 3rd place, 11 games out has some work to be done. Justin Dodd a former Montreal Shamrock is not performing as expected along with SP Erik Shannon. I am sure the owner of this team will get things rolling more smoothly as the season progresses. The talent is there..
Last place Austin Swing, trying to just do something this year to see if they have anything to build on. C/1b Brett Griffin leads the team in hitting but it's not enough when the rest of your team isn't producing.SP Carlos Suarez is the most talented guy on the team but he's struggling pretty bad. He's 3-3 and giving up over .280 batting average to the opposing teams. Next season this team will be one to compete with. This season is just not a good time for them.
